I believe that your sexuality should be completely up to you. I believe it should be your decision with who you want to spend the rest of your life with. I believe that the roles of certain genders have been developed throughout history. I believe it may change throughout history and different roles will be played by different genders. My response to the Westboro church was not the greatest. I believe that the people were wrong in how they were expressing themselves. I believe that you should be able to express yourself to a certain extent.

For your third blog, trace the development of one of the following characters in the Book Thief. What are your thoughts regarding this character? What is his/her (or it's, in the case of Death's)perspectives? What conflicts does this character face? What are your character's perceptions regarding the Nazi regime, the imminence of War, the subjugation of the Jews? How are your character's perspectives unique? Do you like this character? Why/Why not? Etc.

My thoughts toward Liesil as a character deffinitly changed throughout the book. At the beginning of the book I felt bad because of the fact that she did not know how to read or write. This is one of the many conflicts that she faces. An other conflict that Liesel faces would be all the criticism from the people around her. I like this character because she shows that she wants to learn how to do things such as read and write.

Before reading this book I knew Vladiks Holocaust experience would not be a good one. It was further into the book when I realized how horrible Vladiks experience actually was. Pictures like the one on page 56 when the soldier is beating him over the head with a gun calling him a "worthless jew" are pictures that helped me realize how bad Vladiks experience really was. On the other hand though, there were pictures I expected that were showing what people did in these camps. Things like this would be making them level the land and be given tasks that would be impossible to complete within the time that they were given.

One thought that I had during this book was the fact that with all of the pictures it was easier to understand what was going on in the story.These bad experiences That I recently talked about were things that I could understand or connect to through easily in pictures then words. Although the pictures did help, the fact that it was in a comic made me stop and think about things that way I could interpret what was really going on. Overall I did not mind how the story was being told although it was very different.

My name is Kurt Marick and some of the things that I like to do are things like playing hockey and football. I also like just relaxing and hanging out with my friends. Right now I am an undeclared student but am thanking about  changing to accounting. I am interested in learning about how literature is different throughout various cultures. One of the last books that I read was Kite Runner. I believe that cultural diversity is getting bigger and bigger each year. In more places you are starting to see more translations from English to Spanish. Cultural diversity to me means the differences between what kind of music, food, and religons that different groups of people practice. I am expecting to learn how literature varies throughout different cultures.
