Blog #2

Before reading this book I knew Vladiks Holocaust experience would not be a good one. It was further into the book when I realized how horrible Vladiks experience actually was. Pictures like the one on page 56 when the soldier is beating him over the head with a gun calling him a "worthless jew" are pictures that helped me realize how bad Vladiks experience really was. On the other hand though, there were pictures I expected that were showing what people did in these camps. Things like this would be making them level the land and be given tasks that would be impossible to complete within the time that they were given.

One thought that I had during this book was the fact that with all of the pictures it was easier to understand what was going on in the story. These bad experiences That I recently talked about were things that I could understand or connect to through easily in pictures then words. Although the pictures did help, the fact that it was in a comic made me stop and think about things that way I could interpret what was really going on. Overall I did not mind how the story was being told although it was very different.
